Poems by guest author Ruth Grant

February

small white delicate flowerssnowdrops

slender stems in tiny clusters

they appear in February

sweeping away

the dullness of winter,

snowdrops

an invitation to celebrate

Valentine

st v icon bluelovers wax eloquent

run to the letter box

eagerly searching

intimate scribbles

on perfumed paper

romance in the air

will it be there

a quick glance

a smile of relief

he’s remembered

this is Saint Valentine’s

day
