These Walls That Bind Me by guest author Lauren Hammond
First off, I’d like to thank Val for having me on the blog today.
Second, I’d like to begin this post with the synopsis of my latest novella, These Walls That Bind Me.
Ruby Dixon has always believed that every girl has that one guy.
You know…
The one that she just can’t let go of.
The one that broke her heart.
The one that got away.
Yes…
Every girl has that one guy.
And Ruby just so happens to be locked in a room with hers.
Check it out if you get a chance!

Moving into the next part of this post, one question I get asked a lot is – where do you get your ideas?
To be honest, they seem to come at the most random moments, but it’s usually while I’m driving and listening to music. These Walls That Bind Me came to me while I was driving and I thought to myself….
What would it be like to be locked in a room with the one person that you loved to hate?
The novella was born from that question.
Another question I get asked often is how I came to be a writer.
I started young. I started young with a pencil and a dream. I won my first essay contest around age eight and writing was something that I always knew that I would do. I just set that dream aside for a while, working on it here and there until I really got somewhere with it then I moved forward with it, full force.
Writing wasn’t something that came easy or something that came to me overnight. I mean I struggled. I struggled for years and years and years. I struggled to find my voice. I struggled to make a living. I struggled to get somewhere with it.
Then one day my novella, He Loves Me…He Loves You Not hit the amazon bestsellers list and from that moment on, I never looked back. I didn’t consider writing to be a hobby or something I would just do on the side. I found my one, true calling in life and I told myself it would be onward and upward from there.
For all of you dreamers out there….
Never, I repeat never ever ever give up on your dreams.
Who knows where I would be if I would have….
Thanks again for having me, Val!
